Ok no disrespect to the game itself, I personally think its quite an enjoyable thing to play especially with players. I completely understand why it lacks a larger player base, though. Functionality, maybe it was just my experience with the game but oh my god, its a bit unfair. I've mentioned before that I was a tester, I should mention the game I was testing for was called Glove Game. Now, the game itself had a pretty good player base before it halted updates (Not sure if the owner will ever work on it again, if he does he'd make an entirely new game), there were three things that led to its downfall, and two of them could be tied to a similar thing to Bell Hoppers, which again, is functionality. The two are very similar in the fact that some things.. shouldn't have occurred at all?? In Glove Game I would land hits that were too far away from an opponent even if they were in the same ping region as me, while in Bell Hoppers I hop on top of someone's head.. and it punishes me?? Maybe a bug from the recent update just screwed that up, but its incredibly infuriating how many times I've actually been hit out of nowhere despite being faraway from anyone or they were just running past me. Now, you may think fixing that type of bug will help, absolutely it does but there's the other issue the game I used to test for ran into, Appeal. Now Bell Hoppers is pretty fun to me much like Glove Game was, both can be replayed easily and are "simple" enough. I could proudly say that a massively known anime Roblox youtuber, Infernasu, gave our game a chance. We had around 200 - 300+ active players, but it didn't exactly save the game from going into the cemetery of underrated classics. He mentioned this in his video about it if I remember correctly: "This game is fun, but its never gonna go far due to the fact that isn't flashy, isn't simple enough for current trends despite the easy controls, and it doesn't have an anime/show to base itself off of". I hope y'all can figure out how to make Bell Hoppers and other titles more popular soon, especially Hyper Shot and the upcoming Hockey game, but do be reminded how tough it'll be without any clear iconic references on the cover (such as animes like Dragon Ball, Bleach, MHA, etc.) , braindead simplicity, or cutting edge graphics/flashiness. Again, no disrespect to the development behind the games, this is just coming from a tester who loved playing an underrated game that lost its spark unfortunately
Trend Genre Examples: -RNG Games -Anime Games -Simulator Games -Chapter Horror Games -Battleground Games
Underrated But Dead Examples: -Verdant Moon -Rogue Nightmare -Merc Fleet -Resurrections -Contact: A-888
Current Games That Are Exceptions Examples (500 to over 1k players): -Decaying Winter -PHIGHTING! -PARASITE -Empire Clash -Deepwoken -Guts & Blackpowder

Also yeah Jekuto is hella right on discord servers, well-known community apps bring a lot more attention to a game than you would realize. I understand y'all don't have "moderators" for it but come on, theres likely people in this community that you trust enough to be active and moderate the servers properly

yeahh, marbley and i have talked up and down about making a discord server. i can't deny it'd definitely help in making games more popular, but we aren't actually involved in the Roblox community much, so finding good, trusted people to moderate could be hard. either way, at the end of the day, the mods would still be working for us, and if a mod does something we don't agree with, it's still our problem. having that responsibility just isn't really appealing. it sucks that nowadays a discord server is practically required for a game to take off, because developing games and maintaining a community are two completely different skills.
marbley is definitely more against a discord server than i am though. technically i guess i could make one for bell hoppers on my own, since it's my game, but i don't have much hope about the server taking off, either, and there's nothing more depressing than a discord server no one talks in. it's alright, though. marbley and i have both long accepted that a lower player count is the cost of not having a discord

I get ya dude, as a tester who enjoyed glove game so much that I won the first (and sadly the one of the only last tourneys aside from one more), people tend to get really toxic. I completely understand if y'all don't wanna make one, however if you intend to y'all should likely add strict rules and perhaps make the server exclusive to specific people. (Like active volunteers or something)

I will say this though, although a smaller server might not be too talkative, they often become very chill, so theres that I guess. If not a community discord server, why not make a private discord. I know I mentioned that already, but honestly it makes things feel more organized, just a tad bit

Infernasu's take is nothing but horse sht, although while he may be right that the game isnt flashy, not every game has to be anime. I'm sorry but this weeb trend has to stop. The closest we have to weeb stuff is some assist songs in Hypershot are from JPOP songs.

Indeed, I really dislike the recent trend of just anime games. I used to enjoy them before (DBZ: FS, if anyone remembers that game) but man, I'm just worried how it'll effect games like these. Right now glove game is partially living (100+ players active, idk why), but I think it might just be luck from the algorithm. Late luck, unfortunately

Late luck, unfortunately I personally think using Infernasu as a source for game criticism is possibly the worst. You have to remember that 90% of the Roblox playerbase are kids. You need to appeal to them with cool graphics and fun interactive gameplay. Vuga already has that. We just don't have the connections for youtubers to play the game

I don't want more anime games, much less on any future vuga game aside from partial references or bare bone concepts of anime (Like EGO for a mario strikers kinda game or something). I really do hope games like Hyper Shot and Bell Hoppers strike gold with the algorithm like how Gear Riders partially did

We just don't have the connections for youtubers to play the game Very, the unfortunate part is that, other than his friend Dabo, no other big youtubers ever really played nor gave good feedback on the game as far as I know. 90% of the player base are kids, yes, but it still saddens me how they'd prefer to play a game about clicking a button until they get a rare aura, rather than play actual games. You are incredibly correct on the youtubers part, we got to figure out a way for bigger channels to find these games, but again its all based on the player base and algorithm. That player base is not moving until their favorite youtuber plays obscure games, Glove Game used to average 5 to 15 players before and after I became a tester, its not fun
