i'd advise against using it to be honest with you. the engine was never intended to be public, someone unrelated to cuckydev or digitalpurgatory just decided to put out a public build using their code.

creating an engine of your own can really help to learn more stuff as a game dev! plus, the engine's code is pretty complex, it's difficult to add new things if you don't know how. there's a few good open source sonic engines on roblox out there though! i just wouldn't recommend starting so big. remember, vuga started with just pyrite adventure 1, and we only ended up with digital swirl because the soa devs liked the stuff we made later. starting small is fine!

no worries! good luck on your game! there's a ton of helpful resources and stuff online that might help. the devforum is a great place to look, i use it all the time.

that's how i started out too, most of movie sonic simulator and the early days of sonic projector were not our code, haha. but you'll get it eventually. if coding isnt your strong suit, you can always make sure your game shines in other ways. i still respect marbley's level design skills in PA1, even if the gameplay itself was simple.
