Pyrite Experiments Log #1: The Surface
"First log of this uh.. experiment? Into figuring out the main components and abilities of the gems Bacon called.. "Doge Pyrites"? Weird name.. pretty interesting gems, during my adventure to find them, I figured out that they were really convenient. They could easily charge my gadgets when they were simply in my possession, not to mention the energy and physical strength they gave me! Could explain why I didn't need to sleep for several days during the whole adventure.. no matter, after taking these gems back to the lab we found a little bit more usage for them! Two, yet very notable discoveries would be hyper regeneration and teleportation! The first was discovered, well, intentionally discovered was when we were trying to see if these pyrites had any reaction to organic matter. Turns out they did, however the result extended more than just organic resources. It seems that they can fully mend both organic and inorganic matter back into their full shape, as long as the other pieces were there to be mended for it. For example, you can smash a rock into several pieces and the pyrite can, slowly, but surely mend it back to its full shape, but every piece had to remain in what seemed to be an 11 sq meter radius. I, however, knew about this ability as I accidentally discovered this on my own when making my way through the Professor's base. Turns out those lasers weren't too different from the ones shown in those sci-fi movies my dad really liked, I was just lucky I had 7 of those things on me at that time, though. The second ability, teleportation, is a bit weird.. we are able to teleport objects from several mile distances away using a new machine we made that acted as a conduit to these gems. Being able to teleport inorganic matter, but strangely not organic matter. We're trying to figure why that is at the current moment, maybe something else is needed for us to teleport organic material? Maybe even people, for that matter, we might get even more funding for the project if we can find a way to tame these pyrites' powers! In case I get lazy and need to scroll back through any and all logs, I'll add a simple summary at the end, for both you and I. TLDR: Universal effects amongst the pyrites seem to give the abilities of teleportation, hyper regeneration/mending, passive powering in any mechanically charged tool, and enhanced stamina and physical ability" - Draco Mar
(New log series related to the coilverse, mainly meant to expand on the different abilities each pyrites have, and more)

Once the Gear Rider 2 cover is done with, I'm likely gonna do more group photos with different avatars and icons (Hyper Shot, PA but Black Knight, yada yada), here is a small sneak of what one of these photos will be I guess?![](https://snipboard.io/vbPX0j.jpg)

Been revisiting the first two PA games (several times) before I attempt the trial version of PA3 and spotted this guy, he is definitely Draco Mar's uncle (Or a distant relative) in the Coilverse![](https://snipboard.io/rL4qpS.jpg)

I FINALLY FINISHED GETTING ALL A-RANKS SO I CAN HAVE A CLEARER SENSE OF MY ANALYSIS IN THE TRIALS. Sorry for the caps, I'm just so done man, anyways here's the start and partial ranking of my thoughts on PA3's Demo Trial![](https://snipboard.io/I1zlpK.jpg)
First off, I'd like to say this is miles better than the first two in terms of graphics, sound effects, and gameplay mechanics. I really enjoyed this, and I know that the full release is likely gonna fix every issue I have in this review, but it isn't out yet so here it is:
Playing the game normally: Noob's stage was pretty fun if you aren't exactly trying to A-rank it, feels really nice to the point my muscle memory flinched at how odd it was not using shift lock or any of the old movement from the previous two games. In this aspect I'd say if you are playing casually, this is the best stage to feel what PA3 is gonna be like, and how hype its going to be on release, by far my favorite stage if we null A-rank factor
Bacon's stage was stupid fun, it felt so fluid and despite taking the longest out of the three, it never feels like I'm chained down and I don't feel awfully slow. Matter of fact, the control Bacon had with his level was incredibly satisfying not to mention the fun I had stacking homing shots on any enemy I can spot before getting the PERFECT notification. Not much to say, other than the fact that this is the 2nd, really close to 1st favorite stage in the game
Apollo's.. yeah it was kinda boring for me, this is just the fact I disliked Knuckles and Rouge's stages in the Adventure titles, not to mention the old 06 trauma Knuckles gave me. But yeah it was ok, easiest stage by far and simple in execution, it was nice
A-RANK: In terms of A-rank, Bacon felt the most fair to me during this whole experience in playing the demo. I didn't have to tiptoe around, I could still easily blaze through the level, and it was an awesome excuse to play it again. Not much to say, other than the fact that if you want to get an A-rank, this is likely the most fun you're going to ever have
Apollo is second best due to the fact that it's really easy to do, while I did say I found his stage pretty boring, gotta say, pretty funny to try and get all the shard in under 40 seconds or less
Noob's stage.. NOOB'S STAGEEEEEE![](https://snipboard.io/pitOLf.jpg) I ain't gonna say much, it was likely just personal experience for me, but for some reason it was super hard getting A-rank. When you slowly grow angrier trying to complete it with a sore loser trait like me, you start to notice the little unfair things, but oh well. Speedrunning it is surely better, but screw the pillars man. Screw. Those. Pillars.

i love the callback to Funk! i enjoyed reading your review of PA3's trial too. ive seen a lot of people say the A-Rank in Noob's stage was pretty hard (especially comparatively to the other stages), and while i personally like the challenge, i do think im gonna make it a little easier to get in the final game. ill probably save the harder A-ranks for later on. difficulty is a hard thing to gauge when you're a developer on a game, so feedback like this is nice!

I guess I should make up for not posting here last night, so here's some Coilverse lore:
Individual's from the dimension this universe takes in start off as Guests and Bacons as children and in their preteens. This is usually during the first years of their life, trying to build an identity and what not. Bacon's tend to have a more solidified identity in their life, rarely changing their appearance aside from a few accessories and clothes, while Guests can change wildly. Not that their wild appearance changes aren't accessible to Bacon's, its just more common
Draco's Appearance before the beginning of PA:

No probs man, just make sure not to gut the difficulty, just tweak a few things that can frustrate a player. Such as removing the floating pillars (Maybe not, but we'll see), make robot placements a bit more tolerable as I noticed that trying to hit a few robots, specifically the burger bots that look like omega, doesn't tend to work too well. It works great, but in some segments its kinda meh. Don't take too much of my word though, you should look at the Sonic Overtime's playthrough and look through the comment section, absolutely great suggestions there left by players

More Coilverse things!:
BS-01 When the Mar and Burg (Professor Bacon Hair's) families weren't in conflict, the elderly, kind grandfather Bacon had would've made a robotic worker replicating Draco's appearance using newly discovered material known as "Blue Steel". These robot acted as a guardian to both Bacon and Draco as they were, surprisingly, childhood friends at one point. The robot in question was dubbed BS-01 by Bacon's grandfather, though Draco's mother nicknamed it "Orion". Orion wasn't fully intact with it's feelings yet, but it retained memories of better times with the Burg and Mar families.
![](https://snipboard.io/2N4rf8.jpg)
Mar Family They aren't exactly at par with the intellectual genius that was the Burg family, they made up for it by the massive amounts of diversity in talent they had amongst their family members. Medics, music artists, there was quite a lot of occupations that each member held, with the most notable being Cassie Mar (Draco's mom) and Ford Mar (Draco's uncle, who is also named Funk in game) , siblings who had a large impact on the music industry and medical field as a whole. How might someone try to find someone of this diverse family? Well, there are several notable features of this lineage, such as oddly sharp hair that is either black, grey, or maroon colored, having an oddly high talent and potential within one or two fields yet clumsy in any other field, names that are somewhat based off constellations (Cassiopeia, Fornax, Draco) and usually have glasses, weird as it might be. The one oddball of the family is Draco, he was quite fragile in the beginning and didn't have the same level of expertise as the other members of the family, not to mention after his chaotic transformation with the pyrites, he's the only one to never wear glasses or have the usual hair color (anymore at least), with it now being a vibrant ocean blue color. One other thing to note I suppose is that they are Hispanic, Mexican specifically (Forgot to put the goatee on Funk but uhhh, I'll just use the excuse of this being a younger version of himself)![](https://snipboard.io/O5HBTI.jpg)

Sorry for the recent inconsistent posts, just been dealing with things left and right ya know? To make up for it, I put some extra time into these I guess:PYRITE ADVENTURE (1.5) HARMONY: The in-between of PA1 and PA2 in Coilverse lore, and essentially acts a somewhat "modernized" version of Sonic CD. The quick summary of this segment in the timeline is that Professor Bacon Hair was scrambling to find ways to make up for the loss of the Doge Pyrites Draco yoinked from him. Suddenly, the small, yet remaining energy of the pyrites that were taken away would enter a machine of his that would be best described as a world scanner, with the bundled up energy pinpointing an undiscovered area that he'd soon name "Big Terra" (very creative I know). It was plentiful, filled with enough pyrite energy that accumulated in the planet to fuel his future army to conquer the Robloxian dimension that it barely floated above. It was perfect, absolutely something that the mad geniuses before him would commend him for if he succeeds in utilizing it! Only now.. he can't risk getting foiled by that leaping guppy again.. no no, once he had a base set up, he would look through the old labs rooms his kind grandfather had worked in, finding both BS-01, his old guardian robot and the original blueprints utilizing blue steel and comparable alloys. With this, he would upgrade the old BS-01 model from a guardian to the perfect hunter, putting traits on the old model to help encompass the raw energy of the planet, setting up an android that would assist in both resource management for the Professor and energy readings to figure out the scale of how much power can be produced with the planet's energy sources. Meet the newly made and named.. CHIMERA AND BEHEMOTH![](https://snipboard.io/0hM5Wk.jpg)
![](https://snipboard.io/T5e2k7.jpg) CHIMERA, was an android made using the old blueprints of the Professor's grandfather, being created with the intention to help Bacon to seize and locate the highest quality of resources within the planet. As well as, partially, reading BEHEMOTH's (aka BS-01/Orion) energy levels to see the most efficient use of the planet's energy, with these readings being used to help the Professor make the strongest robotic minions without draining too much energy out of the planet. As you can tell from the pictures above, CHIMERA was Claire's appearance and persona before PA2, maintaining a much more devious personality, a smart mind, yet naive to the Professor's malicious intentions, not like she didn't know the difference between bad and good just yet. The reason she has a personality as one of Bacon's robots (or android), is due to the fact that he needed an intelligent robot that could adapt and grow more intellect on the environment it grows in, hoping he could chisel it into a brainwashed minion. Unlike Claire though, Orion (gonna refer to BEHEMOTH as such) wasn't programmed with such advanced thinking or emotions yet, acting more as a robotic security guard/walking test subject to both her and Bacon. Everything was going pretty alright for Professor Bacon Hair, matter of fact once that leaping guppy, Draco, tried to stop his plans, Orion would easily chase him away into a more secluded area on the planet, helping the Professor have more time to enact on his world conquering plans. Unfortunately for him though, Claire's naivety and curiosity would lead to her implanting a similar software into Orion that Bacon had implanted into her, leading the heavy-steeled hunter to slowly become sentient throughout PA Harmony, slowly becoming an older sibling to Claire, as well as teaching her what being a human was like using the memories he retained from his older days as a guardian, and his retaliation against the Professor growing stronger throughout each encounter with Draco as he realizes he wasn't the same witty, awkward Bacon kid he knew before. ![](https://snipboard.io/JTn7r0.jpg) Near the end of this time segment in COILVERSE's PA, Draco would find himself against the two robotic assistants of the Professor, to which Orion would catch him in a dead-end made by Claire using her administrative abilities over the base's passages, using their limited word generator that Bacon never bothered to upgrade from their old model to tell Draco about the only real solution to shutting down the Professor's hold on Big Terra and the robots it fuels with its dormant energy. After a whole journey throughout the complex maze that was Bacon's Base, using the help of Draco's speed and Claire's knowledge, the newly made trio would blaze through finding switches that would finally open a room that even Claire had no access to, the Harmonic Core. Bacon had fled during this time after encountering the three, having one big boss fight before flying away in his pod, activating a self-destruct sequence on the Harmonic Core to ensure that Draco wouldn't be able to get out of this alive, or for any competing geniuses to harbor any resources from the planet. Claire with her quick calculations, would tell the other two how they could minimalize the damage on Big Terra and the planet of Robloxia as a whole, but she grew reasonably panicked and distressed over the fact that it would be nearly impossible for it to work. They needed a repressive force durable enough to withstand to compress the wild energy into a mendable mass that could suppress the potential damage into just destroying the facility the Professor made, as well as an unfortunate but necessary destruction of the nearby lands that was in the blast radius. Fortunately, or unfortunately for Claire, this impossible solution was answered by none other than their older sibling, who would order Draco to get her off the planet while they held back the core's wild energy using the durability of the blue steel that made up their entire body, as well as the absorbing capabilities they had towards pyrite energy to compress the destructive blast that would've blown up Big Terra, into a crater that could be visibly seen on the planet's surface. Draco would have Claire in his arms, making way to the planet below Big Terra using one of the Professor's scrapped devices of teleportation, watching as the explosion occurred. With this, the end of PA Harmony would be made, with Draco taking Claire back to the laboratories one of his parents owned due to the funding given to them by the COILION Project, letting her safely mourn the lost of their robotic sibling, bringing her back to the planet when the COILION scientists were offered to research the wildlife, regions, and resources that inhabited it, having Claire as the main guide for it. Draco would say farewell, feeling a bit saddened from the sacrifice made by Orion, attempting to make up for it by researching further into the Doge Pyrites to find ways to save more lives, until eventually the incident occurred, and PA2 would take place
Extra Context and stuff: -CHIMERA, or Claire in this case, was given her name by Orion. Orion had an old word generator that helped them confirm commands or report situations to the Professor's grandfather, though one of the secret words that the grandfather coded into Orion was "Claire", being a name that belonged to the old man's wife -Claire in this stage would have the abilities to jump multiple times and float, had manipulation over machinery within the Professor's facility except for a specific few, and could apply forcefields on Orion using the Pyrite energy stored in their energy core -Orion abilities are vastly different from our leaping guppy, as they weren't fast as Draco, due to the main factor of them being unable to utilize coil implants because of the immensely low combability the implants had with their blue steel body. However, the Professor had a wonderful idea to make use of some of the fiber and steel found within Big Terra, leading to the installation of the red and black arms and jet we see on this version of Orion. These implants in particular allowed Orion to utilize pyrite energy in an efficient manner, using them as jet's to dash, leap and burst around Big Terra with ease, as well as these jet's as lethal weaponry -Orion looks eerily similar to PA3 Draco despite the two time segments being very far apart, why is that? DOGE, aka the Mephiles equivalent of PA, intentionally molded Draco's new appearance once the raw amounts of pyrite energy started to transform his body. Yes, DOGE has direct ties to the pyrite's force, being able to mold those directly being transformed by it with her dominion over it (Yes it's a she, just like the real life doge). She made him look more akin to Orion's upgraded model to mock the Professor's attempt to tame the pyrites' energy. The clothing was a choice Draco made himself though, in order to respect Orion in his own way -Claire would find Apollo back on Big Terra, as the compressed pyrite energy of the planet would cause a portal to form, leading to Apollo popping out of it
This took a while to make despite it being so messy, so if you wanna ask any more questions in case you want more context I missed, I'll be happy to answer!
