i've decided that i'll add Competitive mode post-launch.
with that said, the game is even closer than ever to being released. i'm finishing the "international" ost soon.
i've got a more traditional early 2000s hockey-sounding soundtrack for people with language settings where hockey is a lot more established. in other languages where hockey isn't as popular, i have a separate ost that sets a bit of a different tone that's still kinda sick IMO

a lot of the arenas chock-full of character are the ones that aren't ultra fancy 16,000 seat superdomes. so i've added a few customization options for the "upper deck" seats that aren't actually seats at all, just walls basically.
so if you wanna customize your own arena to look like a junior arena (or maybe, coming soon, prefabs that are more like local community rinks!), now you basically can!

finished up the last game type (Practice Mode) i wanted to add before launch. here's a video of some more gameplay!
I'm polishing up the game and fixing bugs and adding more QoL stuff. I just added voices today too, don't mind the voice in the video it's a special robot one for my robot avatar

Adding some special modes and venues to the game now
during Olympic years, there'll be a special Winter Games game type available during the month of the Olympics where you can represent your national team
i'm still working on setting up the jerseys for that, but finished the arena setup: all the ads on the rink are removed, and the boards now have a cool Winter Games graphic. and the center ice logo also changes

so, i'm wrapping up last details and touches on the Winter Games mode. the most important detail is that you switch out your chosen jerseys and jersey crests to instead rep the National Team that you choose to represent in your Customize menu.
to make a really long story short, I thought I could do a thing where each national team could share the exact same jersey design, and i could just export each element individually and sorta paste them all on top of each other in-engine to look like one solid jersey. and then i could just recolor all the different bits to match your National Team's colors.
that is not how Roblox does shirts. sadly.
so im here having to manually recolor the jerseys for every national team, export them, and then FINALLY uploading them before i can even think about implementing them in-game. it's not a huge problem, it's just annoying when you think you're so smart and have a really clever way to work around a problem, only to find out the engine doesn't support you doing that.
it's so strange. you can only render one Shirt on an avatar at a time, for example, but you can have all sorts of decals and textures on an avatar and all of them will display (and don't worry, I looked into that too for these jerseys, but with no luck).
so the WHO updates might be barren. that's because im EXPORTING A MILLION FLIPPING JERSEYS

finally wrapped up the Winter Games mode. i made a million flipping jerseys and implemented them. here's some screenshots showing what all that effort was for
here's a screenshot of a game in Winter Games mode. notice im wearing a United States jersey, complete with a flag crest.
you can also notice the "Winter Games" signage on the boards around the ice rink, as well as how my country flag shows up in that "GOAL" frame thing in the bottom middle.
for you, the player, this is where the magic will happen. what national team jersey and flag you wear will be determined by which country you choose as your National Team in the Customize menu. you're free to change this whenever you'd like.
as you can see, i have a totally different jersey and crest here in the main menu. that's what i've customized and that's what i'll be wearing outside of Winter Games and All Star Game modes!
but for Winter Games mode, players get to wear a special country jersey and rep their National Team of choice

SuperJumpman12 hates me because i'm trying to add as much as possible for launch, hopefully this month. by their standards the game is ready to go and has been for a while, but i don't want it to be super empty on launch. at this point though making a demo and a trailer are at the top of my list. i might put together a demo soon, like tomorrow |
